Obstacles to Truth

The Course tells us that the truth cannot be taught, but will be revealed to us if we do our part of forgiveness. To forgive is to look past our perceptual errors and thus not judge ourselves or others.

Forgiveness ... is still, and quietly does nothing. .... It merely looks, and waits, and judges not. W-pII.1.4:1,3

Truth was given to us in its entirety at our creation, it was not learned. Thus we cannot learn truth as this implies time, and our creation was outside of time. Our task is to accept truth back into our awareness again. As we meet the necessary conditions required truth will automatically start to dawn upon our minds all by itself.

All that is asked of you is to make room for truth. You are not asked to make or do what lies beyond your understanding. All you are asked to do is let it in ; only to stop your interference with what will happen of itself; simply to recognize again the presence of what you thought you gave away. T-21.II.7:6-8 T449

We are afraid of truth as it will dissolve our sense of separation by revealing the oneness of God's creation. When truth comes the ego is extinguished. Truth is of the mind and not the body. It resides with the Holy Spirit in our split mind. To avoid this threat to its existence the ego always counsels us to stay well away from the mind and focus on the physical world. Spirit cannot make connection with matter and thus the ego is safe.

"Sickness is a defense against the truth" (Lesson 136) the Workbook tells us. As truth begins to dawn upon our mind the ego counsels us that we are in great danger. He tells us that truth will reveal the depths of our sin against god and lead us back to his just punishment of us. To avoid this very fearful situation the ego may counsel us to get sick so we can divert our attention from the mind, where truth can be found, to the body. Now we are safe from God, back in the hiding place of matter.

The ego is always wrong. As we learn to hold the hand of Jesus and look without judgement and blame at the content of our mind we begin to learn that joy and not damnation await us. As we allow the barriers we have built to the presence of truth to be dismantled by the Holy Spirit truth will automatically flow into our mind with no help from ourselves.

Long ago we decided to block the awareness of truth so we could play our game of separation. Tiring of this painful game we begin at last, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to lift the barriers to its presence and find that its still there, unchanged, perfect and joyfully waiting to embrace us again.

You do not have to seek reality.
It will seek you and find you when you meet its conditions (peace through forgiveness).

SUMMARY OF A COURSE IN MIRACLES

"You may be surprised to hear how very different is reality from what you see."(T348; T-l8.I.5:1) Our senses report to us a seemingly real and substantial world. The Course informs us however, that we spend all our sleeping and waking time in a dream of seeming separation from God. Our true nature is still spirit, as God created us, and will be eternally. God is described as perfect, limitless, formless, eternal and changeless and so therefore His Creation, the Christ or Sonship, must also be. Nothing in our universe can be described by any of these words and therefore it cannot have been created by God. We are ideas in the mind of God and as ideas we cannot leave the mind of God. This perfect unity of God and Christ is Heaven and nothing can threaten this.

For reasons we cannot understand, a thought of separation from God, which the Course calls the ego, entered the collective mind of the Sonship. This idea, at which we "forgot to laugh", stated that we could take the place of God and become the Creator. God's answer to this was the creation of the Holy Spirit in our mind to correct this "tiny mad idea" of separation.

Choosing not to listen to the Voice for God, we experienced an overwhelming sense of sin at what we thought we had accomplished. From this act of sin came guilt and the fear of God's punishment. Our minds became split into the wrong mind of the ego, the right mind of the Holy Spirit and the sleeping Son of God (the decision maker) who has now to decide who to listen to. The ego part counsels us that we cannot survive the avenging anger of God as represented by the presence of the Holy Spirit in our mind. Out of fear, we listen and identify with the ego's counsel and project the thought of separation out of our mind as an image. This image is the physical universe where we can now hide from God's anger and our guilt.

A veil of forgetfulness falls over our decision and this illusory world appears very real to us. Yet we are still safe in heaven although lost in our dream of exile. So powerful is this illusion that we could not awaken without the help of the Holy Spirit. Our body now seems a reality and not spirit which vision would reveal to us. The ego teaches us to deny our guilt and project it onto others. Our guilt (self-hate) now seems to be created by people and circumstances outside ourselves. We now feel justified in feeling anger towards others and attack in self-defence becomes a necessity (special hate relationships). Feeling a great lack within us, the ego counsels us to find people who can fulfil our imagined needs - security, sex, money career etc. (special love relationships).

To awaken from this dream and regain our lost vision, we need to undo our belief in separation from God. The Holy Spirit's plan for our awakening is called the Atonement (correction of perception). We begin to learn that the world is but a neutral mirror to the beliefs in our mind. No person or event has the power to give or take our peace from us. When we get disturbed about someone or something "out there" in the world we are only seeing a projection of some part of our mind that is not forgiven.

If we can have the "little willingness" to allow the Holy Spirit's counsel of forgiveness to enter our mind we can begin the journey of undoing separation by joining with others. We forgive by first removing our projections from the world and then bringing them back to our mind where they originated. Now we have the opportunity to heal our mind by ceasing to judge its ego content. It is our self-judgment that prevents our mind being healed by the Holy Spirit. Guilt demands punishment, not healing.

As we learn to stop judging ourselves we allow the ever present love of the Holy Spirit to shine away the clouds of guilt in our mind. This shift of perception from the ego's world of separation and attack, to the Holy Spirit's counsel of joining and forgiveness is called a miracle. As we practice forgiveness in our relationships, we start to undo the guilt that covers the memory of God's love in our mind. We begin to see that we have not been running away from God's anger, but from God's love. To allow the awareness of God's love back into our mind will cause our ego to disappear, and this is our greatest fear.

Relationships become classrooms in which we learn to forgive ourselves by forgiving others (holy relationships). Jesus is the greatest example to us in teaching this lesson of forgiveness. Increasingly, we realise that when people attack us through fear, they are really asking for our love. Thus we begin to allow the Holy Spirit to transform our world from the prison of the ego to a teaching device that will awaken us from the dream of separation and allow us to enter the real world of vision.

With the reawakening in our mind of the knowledge of who we really are, we will walk this world in complete peace with an inner joy that nothing can take from us. We will now perceive everyone as our brothers and sisters whose reality is eternal spirit and to whom we extend the love of the Holy Spirit.

The Journey of the Soul

Spirit came to my Soul and said, "Let us go on a journey together." There was nothing in all the universe but My Soul and Spirit. The night was crystal clear, the sky was studded with a million stars, and the air carried a fragrance as if all the flowers upon the earth had released their perfume for our pleasure. I laughed aloud from pure joy as Spirit and I went into the night. There was no pavement beneath our feet, we walked on air that was as a gossamer road stretched out before us, and we sang together all the songs of ages long since past.

As we journeyed on, My mind said to me "Let us stop here at the house of our friends and take them with us on our happy journey," so we stopped at the house and the friends came out and joined us; but somehow the music did not ring so clearly and the odour from the flowers seemed more faint.

Then it was that the friend said, "Let us stop here and take these other friends with us." We did so and the other friends were singing also, but the music lacked the sweet harmony of that which we, as Soul and Spirit, sang alone together. As we all journeyed on, a fog settled over the night and the stars were lost behind the silken veil; the perfume of the flowers came from so far away that we soon lost it altogether, and the air became heavy and hard to tread.

The friends we had gathered with us pulled at my garment saying "Come go our way, it is a good way to go." As I turned to go with them I saw through the fog a dim light. It was the lighted candle of SpIrit, the light within the Soul which forever burns, waiting for us to find it. Then did a great awakening come to Me and I swiftly tore off the clinging hands, and stood forth, free.

The lighted candle of Spirit then became the light of a glorious sunrise, the fog lifted and a world of beauty lay before Me. Again Spirit spoke to My Soul, saying "When you journey forth with Me you must journey alone, for it is only as you disentangle yourself from the outward form of earth things that you can make the journey from Sense to Soul. Until you have made this journey, alone with Me, you are not fitted to guide others on the Path."

I awoke and a great peace was upon Me. I know that in the still watches of the night Spirit had taught My Soul a great lesson.

Non Dual Teachings

This part of the newsletter offers input from non-dual teachers. What is non-duality? The word ‘non-dual’ means not two. On the first page of the ACIM text there is two line summary of a Course in Miracles. It begins with the line “Nothing real can be threatened.”

This refers to what God created – eternal, formless, spirit. Eternal means never born and therefore cannot change or die. The Course uses the expression ‘the Christ’ to denote this. Behind all the seeming multiplicity of the universe there is actually only one essential reality. Just as all the images on the cinema screen seem different, the light that creates them is one.

There is nothing outside you. That is what you must ultimately learn, for it is the realization that the Kingdom of Heaven is restored to you. For God created only this, and He did not depart from it nor leave it separate from Himself. The Kingdom of Heaven is the dwelling place of the Son of God, who left not his Father and dwells not apart from Him. Heaven is not a place nor a condition. It is merely an awareness of perfect Oneness, and the knowledge that there is nothing else; nothing outside this Oneness, and nothing else within.

A Course in Miracles T-18.VI.1.

The second line of the summary states ”Nothing unreal exists.” This refers to everything that is born and therefore dies - the ego’s world. Thus everything in the universe including ourselves is not real according to the Course. It is like a great dream. Only perfect oneness is real.

There are two forms of non-duality – pure and impure. In the impure form God is aware that the universe is a dream and experiences itself through it - God's Leela or play as they say in the East. In the pure form of non-duality God is unaware of the universe. The Course is an example of pure non-dual teachings. A metaphor for this is a cinema projector where the lamp in the projector represents God. When the ego's film of separation is run past the light it is projected onto the screen of time and space. The light of God makes this possible, but the lamp is unaware of what is on the screen and would continue to shine when the film is taken away. To continue with this metaphor the light extending from the lamp is who we are, the Christ. ( See chart http://acfip.org/lightbulb.html)

You dwell not here, but in eternity.

You travel but in dreams, while safe at home.

Material from ETs

I introduce ET material from loving, wise and non-judgemental sources in most newsletters. I realise this is a controversial subject so I want to introduce below the science behind the possibility of other life forms in this universe, some of which are far in advance of us.

I recently learned that the US space agency NASA has been pointing an orbital telescope at one small part of our Milky Way galaxy and found about 3000 planets to date. This led to one of their department heads saying there must be more planets in the universe than stars.

There are trillions of stars in the universe. A trillion is a thousand billion. A billion is a thousand million. A million days have not gone by since Jesus died. This is a very big number.

There are also trillions of moons. Are they all empty of life and the only life is all crowded onto this one planet? A few hundred years ago we thought the Earth was at the centre of the universe and everything else revolved around us. If some of this ET life is just a few thousands years ahead of us technically, they would have learned how to travel beyond Einstein's light speed barrier and easily and quickly visit us here.

I believe many of them have much to teach us especially as some have been through our current challenges a very long time ago.

2021 Messages from The Arcturian Group:
June 20 channeled by Marilyn Raffaele

Dear readers, welcome to our message, which is intended to assist you in your journey toward more deeply understanding who you really are.

Over the course of the many lifetimes you have all had, intense experiences of both good and evil and the energy created by them has been carried from lifetime to lifetime in cellular memory. Until cleared, these pockets of old energy continue to function if or when activated by some outer person or experience.

The escalating violence you are seeing is the result of increasingly more high-resonating energy flowing to Earth, which in turn is acting to bring dormant dense energies stored in the physical, emotional, and mental bodies of all to individual awareness. Some unenlightened few are choosing to act out these old energies rather than allowing them to clear.

A great deal of clearing takes place as you sleep or simply automatically as your Light expands, but cellular remembrance of intense and traumatic experiences must come to conscious awareness in order to be acknowledged and then cleared. For example, those who have an inordinate fear of something like heights, dogs, water, etc. have at some time in the past or present had a negative experience or even suffered death through these things. The cells remember and in coordination with mind are trying to protect the person from doing it again.

This does not mean that a person with a fear of heights must go to a high cliff and look over, it means that a person with some level of spiritual awareness can clear these old fears, firstly by ceasing to identify with and claim the fear to be personal, and secondly through understanding that fear does not exist in the reality of their being. Fear is old programming put in place for protection, but old programming can be dissolved, because it has no law to support or maintain it.

We are not saying that deeply held fears release easily, especially for those not yet awake to the deeper truths. Fears that have been carried through lifetimes often become a person's identity, but at a certain point in everyone's evolutionary journey all remaining deeply ingrained fears must be acknowledged and cleared. For some this may require the help of a professional, but the main thing is to know and fully accept that fear never was or can become the person. Fear is always impersonal.

There are some who find satisfaction in maintaining their particular fear, because it gets them attention and can be an excuse for doing or not doing certain things; however, if you are reading these messages you are ready to move or have already moved beyond that state of consciousness. Strive to be totally honest with yourselves, because continuing to hold on to some fear or negative quality (even age) because it makes you special in some way will block further spiritual advancement. It represents separation.

Remember, if you identify with any negative issues that come up for you it simply aligns you with that particular energy and then does indeed make it yours. Stand firm in knowing that all discord is the manifestation of the belief in two powers and separation, and rejoice in knowing that you are spiritually prepared to move through the appearances. Never forget or doubt that the only qualities that are personal to you are those of Divine Consciousness.

There are many in the world at this time whose soul purpose was to be on Earth as a catalyst, causing confusion and disarray that would in turn force those happy to continue living comfortable lives based in duality and separation toward actually thinking about and examining the status quo.

Trust. Trust. Trust. It is very important that all who have awakened, cease doubting and trust.

Your Higher Self is you, not some far-off entity hovering around and looking in on you occasionally. The Higher Self is that fragment of your Soul that has never forgotten conscious oneness. It knows you inside and out because it is YOU. Trust that it is always working to bring you experiences that will best serve your evolutionary process. Talk to your Higher Self.

Long ago, souls chose to experience separation and proceeded to get stuck in the resulting dense energies, creating a collective consciousness based in two powers and separation, which constitutes the third-dimensional illusion. You chose to be on Earth at this time in order to assist with the shifting of the collective out of this established density and into
Light. You were spiritually awake before coming and knew you would be capable of assisting others out of the illusion. You also knew that these times would offer you a perfect opportunity to clear all remaining stored old energy.

Never doubt that your true essence (not a human concept of you) is omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient Divine Consciousness. You are not one with IT, you are IT.

Some believe that because God is omniscient God knows all about their problems and so they pray to this concept of God. If Divine Consciousness held within it problems, disease, lack, or limitation of any sort, these things would be permanent, held in place by Divine Law and no one would ever be able to heal or correct them. Divine Consciousness is infinitely aware only of Itself, because IT is all that exists.

If God is Omnipotent and omnipresent, where would any other power come from? Does it not then make intelligent sense to make one's goal the attaining of a consciousness of oneness, rather than continuing to seek solutions from within the illusion?

Many are awakening − some with tiny steps that just question, and others with giant leaps of consciousness. Much will begin to unfold, as increasingly more awaken out the desire to hold onto beliefs that are quickly becoming obsolete. This is the grand shift that has been predicted for eons. You are in it because you chose to be in it.

Present times offer a grand opportunity to once and for all clear and be free of old energies that may still hold you in bondage to some person, place, concept, or thing. Rejoice, dear ones, even as you witness a world that seems to be collapsing from the weight of its own density. These things must surface in order to be seen by the majority, otherwise they would just continue to remain out of sight where they could fester and explode into issues of pain and suffering.

We would speak of happiness, that state of being that everyone seeks and which most believe exists in the outer scene from where it must somehow be attained. Finding the perfect partner, accumulating wealth, getting the perfect job, being physically beautiful or handsome are just a few of the numerous three-dimensional concepts regarding what will bring happiness.

Know that permanent happiness can never be found through attaining something in the outer scene, because real happiness is already fully present within you waiting to be discovered. Happiness is the result of attaining a consciousness of oneness with Source, which automatically constitutes oneness with all that Source is − wholeness, completeness, harmony, abundance, etc.

There will always be pairs of opposites in the outer scene, simply because third-dimensional creations are formed from the energy of duality and separation.

Source/God is complete and whole, always has been and always will be, and that is all that the human mind is able to comprehend. It is only through attaining a state of consciousness in alignment with Divine Consciousness that a person is finally able to experience true happiness and cease the constant seeking. Many things can and do bring temporary happiness, but eventually their glamour fades for they are concepts of some deeper spiritual reality.

Until spiritual realization, the Real Self of every individual continues to yearn for recognition, which is interpreted by the human mind as that search for happiness that everyone experiences. You are spiritually ready to stop seeking your happiness from the outer world, dear ones. Enjoy your lives, friends, activities and whatever resonates with you. Laugh, have fun, dance, read good books, have a glass of wine with friends, and enjoy your life, but do not expect these things to bring you the fullness of happiness or sense of completeness that is only found within.

Release everything you may still believe to be necessary for your happiness. You may find that some of these things do appear after having attained a consciousness of oneness with Divine completeness. If that happens, those things you originally thought you had to have will be of a higher resonance, quality, and form, because they will be formed of consciousness and not illusion.

Release all doubt and trust that your Higher Self knows what you need, when, and how to get it to you. With much love, respect, and appreciation, We are the Arcturian Group

Forget not once this journey is begun the end is certain. Doubt along the way will come and go and go to come again. Yet is the ending sure. No one can fail to do what God appointed him to do. When you forget, remember that you walk with Him and with His Word upon your heart. Who could despair when hope like this is his?
A Course in Miracles-Clarification of Terms-Epilogue

The deepest but forgotten truth about ourselves is that we are one with the love and mind of God. Identification with our bodies and personalities blinds us to our spiritual reality. The Course teaches us how to awaken from this dream of separation from God and to experience joy and peace. If our intention to awake is sincere and we have the humility to realise we know nothing and are willing to be taught by spirit we will meet the conditions of awakening.

Everyone's path is unique. Some take the steps in different order and sometimes simultaneously, and some appear to miss out some steps all together. Some experience visions, ecstasy, physical phenomena, and other mystical and psychic experiences, whilst others travel a less dramatic path but still reach the same destination - an inner peace, quiet joy and a oneness with all things, and even beyond that oneness.

Many of the challenges on the path return again and again in cyclic fashion until the journey is completed. What is required of us is to start out on an unknown journey with a faith that increases with experience, moving from an initial awakening to a full embodiment in daily life.This workshop will include the following topics
